The Culture Theory is a music management and creative services company built on the belief that great music and great business can—and should—coexist.
For nearly a decade, we’ve been facilitating collaborative moments between artists, songwriters, and producers around the world, crafting songs that have made their imprint on culture—echoing through moments, movements, and millions of listeners. We’ve also been fortunate to collaborate with some of the world’s most prolific brands, major record labels, and independent artists across the globe.
But at our core, we’re here for one reason: to make music that moves people—deeply inspired and undeniably great, created at the highest level. It’s what brought us here in the first place, and it’s what drives everything we do.
Founded by Jake Posner, The Culture Theory is a reflection of what fuels him most: discovering raw talent, developing it into something undeniable, and bringing the right people together to create something special. This isn’t just the work—it’s the passion.
Founded on Passion
That’s where it all begins.
Jake Posner, Founder & CEO of The Culture Theory
I’ve wanted to work in the world of music ever since I was 16…only I didn’t know how, where or what I was meant to do, so I figured I’d try everything. I started in college as the local music producer in my freshman dorm who also DJ’ed fraternity parties, eventually getting involved with various music blogs and magazines passionately trying to lend a spotlight to so many artists I came across in hopes of helping them build their own platforms.
By 2015, my career path had taken me a few years down a different road. My graduating hope was of course to go into music, however due to the extremely competitive (and scarce) job market that it is, I ultimately found myself entering the world of advertising, yet the drive to eventually find my way back to music had never left me; so, when I stumbled upon this video on Reddit one night after work, I knew I had not only found something incredibly special, but I also found my potential way into the business. The only problem was, I knew absolutely nothing about what it meant to manage an artists (let alone a band)…
This is normally where the story ends; the rational fears of the unknown start to seep in, “how would I even go about any of this” repeats over and over in your mind, but for some reason that day, in that moment, it didn’t matter.
Passion prevailed and I took the leap, which honestly was the hardest part of it all; I was now officially in unknown territory, so the thought process began to shift from “how do I?” to “how can I?”, one foot begins to follow the other, and after years of continued learning, hard work and incredible music I am so very proud to have been a part of—The Culture Theory, which began as a passionate impulse late one night in another life has now become a full-scale music management company.
…and my reason for sharing all of this directly ties into one of most impactful lessons I’ve learned along my way: we are all capable of building something great—you just need to be passionate enough to take the leap and let the unknown empower you. If you can do that, the future is yours.
