Maria Magdalena

“Billie Holiday meets David Lynch in Eastern Europe” — that's how Maria Magdalena has been described, and she lives up to it. Born in Poland, based in London, trained as an amateur boxer.

She's written with Grammy-winning Sade songwriter Stuart Matthewman, penned songs in Jimmy Page's iconic house, and performed at Jack White's Third Man Records. But the center of gravity is the writing itself: love, psychology, addiction, the gritty highs and lows of life, delivered like secrets.

She is one half of Opium Choir alongside producer Olly Burden — smoke-curled vocals over industrial weight, shot through with Eastern European grain and shadow.
