Opium Choir is the world of producer Olly Burden and vocalist Maria Magdalena: dark, sensual, cinematic trip-hop with the weight and texture of a modern-age Massive Attack.

Burden is a London producer with a signature you feel before you can name it — weight, impact, atmosphere. It's made him a trusted first call across electronic, alternative, and cinematic worlds: studio guitarist and closest collaborator of Liam Howlett (The Prodigy), longtime writing partner of Jamie T, his work championed by everyone from underground innovators to Fred again.., alongside ongoing collaborations with Dom Dolla, Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo, Yeti Beats, Cassyette, and Trouble Andrew (Gucci Ghost). That same sound has carried trailers and campaigns for Deadpool 2, Alien: Covenant, Call of Duty, and Assassin's Creed.

“Billie Holiday meets David Lynch in Eastern Europe” — that's how Maria Magdalena has been described, and she lives up to it. Born in Poland, based in London, trained as an amateur boxer. She's written with Grammy-winning Sade songwriter Stuart Matthewman, penned songs in Jimmy Page's iconic house, and performed at Jack White's Third Man Records. But the center of gravity is the writing itself: love, psychology, addiction, the gritty highs and lows of life, delivered like secrets.

Together the chemistry is slow-burning and hypnotic — industrial weight beneath smoke-curled vocals, shot through with Eastern European grain and shadow. Opium Choir doesn't ask to be heard. You find it, or it finds you.
